The F5IFF'25 inauguration was marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Mamata Shankar (Padma Shri awardee, actress and dancer), Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury (Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group), Dr. Gouri Basu (Consultant, Ministry of Culture), Prof. Shalini Lihitkar (Educationist and library science expert), and Dr. Amit Kumar Ghosh (Deputy Director, AnSI), marking a grand celebration of film and cultural heritage.
The Fest5 International Film Festival announces its stellar lineup of movies, captivating audiences from September 5 to 8, 2025. Join us at Kolkata's iconic venue Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI) to enjoy incredible masterpieces from global independent filmmakers.

Festival Focus
At F5IFF’26, we renew our commitment to protecting cultural heritage and the environment—both essential to our collective identity and the well-being of the planet. Through the focus themes, we invite filmmakers to present stories that engage with anthropological themes, environmental challenges, and the significance of cultural preservation. This initiative especially encourages emerging independent filmmakers and aims to foster cross-cultural exchange through the medium of cinema.
The Festival Focus 2026 categories include:
Films on Environmental Degradation and Climate Change, which explore the complex relationship between humans and the natural world, addressing climate change, ecological concerns, and sustainability.
Films on Anthropology, Cultural Preservation and Heritage Conservation, examines India’s cultural and social diversity through the lives, traditions, and practices of its many communities.
The Satyajit Ray Student Film Award 2026, A platform dedicated to recognizing the creative talent of student filmmakers and celebrating new voices in cinema.
Spotlight on France, France takes the spotlight as the Focus Country at F5IFF’26, with a dedicated category celebrating its rich cinematic heritage, diverse storytelling traditions, and vibrant cultural identity.
